My Hebrew writing skills are weak, at best, and so I am writing to you in English, following our return from Montenegro,Bosnia-Herzegovina on July 16. ————————————- The trip was superb, for many reasons. Lior Bear, with whom I have traveled to Vietnam-Cambodia and Burma-Laos, is one of the very finest tour guides ever. On all levels, he was superb.Knowledge and presentation—excellent, clear, historically, accurate, well presented. Organization – always clear, always available and helpful Human qualities – extremely positive, gracious, generous Leadership – first class. We felt like participants in a "grand experience" and not like sheep who were following a leader. Even with a variety of personalities, likes and dislikes, the level of "good feeling" was pervasive throughout the 8 days. Lior has personal qualities which rise above the mundane and silly or negative issues which can emerge in any trip and it is very obvious, FROM ALL OF US, that we shared a first class learning and exciting trip. Even when it was possible that plans needed to be changed, he made the necessary arrangements quickly and thoughtfrully and we just moved along to the next part of the trip.

Elisha Shemer, who "forms the group" is to be complimented as usual for organizing a group of relatively compatible travelers. His commitment (and friendship) are an important ingredient in the group dynamic and its success. An unexpected asset was the driver, known as Marco, whose driving skills were matched with fine human skills.

I joined this group because of my long friendship with the Shemers AND because of my feeling about having Lior Bear as the tour guide who adds so much to the fine experience in so many different ways.. When he is available again, I will consider strongly the option of traveling with him.
